Job Overview
Qatar Airways Group is seeking a highly skilled Technical Architect – Digital Infrastructure to lead hybrid cloud initiatives within the IT – Digital Resilience Infrastructure team. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and optimizing Azure and GCP cloud environments while ensuring governance, security, and cost efficiency. The position includes leading cloud migrations, capacity planning, and promoting operational excellence across enterprise platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage hybrid cloud infrastructure for enterprise applications, ensuring high availability, scalability, and business continuity.
- Lead Azure and GCP migration initiatives using Lift & Shift strategies and parallel run approaches.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate deployment and reduce manual processes.
- Define and enforce cloud governance best practices, focusing on cost optimization and security.
- Conduct Well-Architected Reviews and platform architecture reviews with internal teams and hyperscalers.
- Investigate and resolve cloud infrastructure incidents, ensuring continuous improvement and reliability.
- Mentor and train engineers, supporting talent development and team growth.
- Stay updated with emerging trends in cloud computing and provide strategic recommendations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, IT Management, or equivalent.
- Minimum 8 years in IT, with at least 6 years in relevant cloud architecture roles.
- Proven experience in hybrid cloud environments integrating on-premises and public cloud platforms.
- Expertise in Azure and GCP services, microservices, event-driven architectures, and DevOps/DevSecOps pipelines.
- Strong knowledge of cloud security, compliance, and platform reliability engineering (SRE).
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
