Job Overview
Qatar Airways is seeking a Business Control & Financial Support Analyst to provide financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, management reporting, and financial business cases. The role focuses on adding value, streamlining processes, and supporting better decision-making across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop financial models and conduct analysis using quantitative tools and techniques.
- Analyze actual revenues and costs; prepare root-cause variance analysis and periodic management reports (monthly, quarterly, annually).
- Identify and implement process improvements with finance stakeholders or business units.
- Conduct ad hoc revenue and cost analysis for senior management.
- Develop and report KPIs regularly.
- Ensure financial accounting reports align with corporate definitions and standards.
- Optimize reporting processes for route profitability, financial accounting, and management reporting.
- Review annual budget submissions in line with key management strategies.
- Monitor and control spends to achieve cost targets; recommend corrective measures.
- Evaluate business case proposals for revenue growth or cost reduction.
- Review contracts and agreements for financial compliance.
- Consolidate and analyze departmental financial results monthly and annually during budgeting.
- Perform other duties as directed by the Business Finance Manager.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
- Experience as a financial analyst; finance credentials preferred.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong eye for detail and ability to interpret financial data and business cycles.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to interact at all organizational levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial records.
- Innovative, self-starter, able to work independently.
- Knowledge of internal finance systems, cost centre accounting, budgets, and forecasts.
- Airline industry experience is preferred.
