Job Overview
This role is responsible for managing all technical aspects of the Baggage Handling System (BHS) and Hold Baggage Screening System (HBSS), including control systems, servers, networks, electronics equipment, and data interfaces with other airport systems (BRS, DCS, CUTE, AODB, BL Database). The specialist ensures operational performance, security, maintenance, and technical guidance for contractors and the airport team.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee technical maintenance and projects for BHS & HBSS, including design, functionality, data reporting, spare parts management, quality control, upgrades, and enhancements.
- Ensure IT security, system availability, and proper configuration management for baggage handling systems.
- Recommend system modifications or enhancements based on industry trends, including cybersecurity for operational technology.
- Lead and monitor service level delivery of O&M contractors, third-party contractors, and service providers.
- Coordinate system integration, testing, commissioning, and SOP development to optimize operational and maintenance efficiency.
- Conduct statistical analysis, monitor throughput and system availability, and implement corrective actions to improve performance.
- Manage procurement of electronics, hardware, software, and simulation models for BHS & HBSS.
- Compile and report operational and technical summaries for airport management, ensuring informed decision-making.
- Conduct root cause analysis for system failures and ensure disaster recovery plans are effective.
- Support asset management initiatives aligned with strategic plans and continuous improvement efforts.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (Post-Graduate in Engineering or Computer Science preferred)
- Experience: Minimum 6 years in BHS/HBSS technical systems, including design, development, integration, testing, and commissioning.
- Certifications: LEAN or LEAN SIX SIGMA Green Belt or higher.

- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong knowledge of configuration and user management
