Job Overview
Qatar Airways is seeking a Research & Strategy Manager for its Product Development & Design Division. This role focuses on driving insight-led product planning, strategic research, and market analysis to shape the future of the inflight product portfolio, including cabin design, seating, inflight entertainment (IFE), connectivity, and overall customer experience. The role involves leading a research & analytics team to support business cases, product roadmaps, and CX transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead competitive benchmarking, voice-of-customer analysis, and macro-environment scanning to support differentiated product positioning.
- Translate customer insights and industry trends into structured strategic recommendations, scenario plans, and opportunity frameworks.
- Work closely with SVP, VP, and other senior stakeholders to support strategy formulation, long-term planning, and cost justifications.
- Develop comprehensive business cases for new cabin products, seating upgrades, IFE system enhancements, and onboard experience initiatives, including financial modeling and ROI analysis.
- Track emerging innovations, technologies, and customer behaviors across aviation, hospitality, tourism, and lifestyle sectors.
- Drive qualitative and quantitative research initiatives (surveys, focus groups, competitor analysis) to capture passenger expectations and market trends.
- Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives, redefining business processes, SOPs, and KPIs for enhanced operational efficiency.
- Perform other duties as directed by the Line Manager or Head of Department.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelorβs or Masterβs degree in Business, Strategy, Aviation Management, or related discipline.
- Minimum 7 yearsβ experience in strategy, product research, insights, or management consulting, preferably in aviation, travel, or hospitality.
- Certification in Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher) or equivalent process improvement experience.
- Proficiency in leveraging AI tools for research and large dataset analysis.
- Skilled in competitor benchmarking and maintaining intelligence databases.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; capable of influencing senior stakeholders.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint), with experience in dashboards, project tracking, executive presentations, and reporting.
