Job Overview:
Qatar Airways is seeking a Manager Catering Inventory & Logistics to lead the development and execution of a global catering equipment supply, inventory, and distribution strategy. This role ensures continuous operational availability of catering and amenity equipment while driving cost efficiency, governance, and best-practice inventory management across the Qatar Airways network. The position plays a critical role in forecasting, logistics optimization, warehousing strategy, and cross-functional collaboration within Catering Services and Product Development & Design.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage the global catering equipment, bonded items, and beverage supply strategy across 800+ inventory parts.
- Lead accurate forecasting, budgeting, stock holding, and logistics methodologies to ensure optimal provisioning.
- Balance supply risk and cost through informed trade-off decisions.
- Review and enhance logistics strategies to minimize unnecessary transportation and support fuel conservation initiatives.
- Build and implement a warehousing strategy, managing outsourced warehouses and developing in-house solutions where viable.
- Plan the introduction of new stock items and manage withdrawal and disposal of obsolete inventory.
- Collaborate with Product Development & Design and Catering Services on new product specifications, trials, and user feedback.
- Develop strong cross-functional relationships to support time-critical supply chain decisions.
- Ensure governance, cost control, and reduction of excess stock holdings network-wide.
- Perform additional departmental duties as assigned by the Head of Department.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelorβs Degree or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of job-related experience in logistics, equipment, and supplier management within a global environment.
- Experience in forecasting, reporting, planning, and program/project management.
- Strong mathematical and statistical analysis skills (preferred).
- Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, ERP systems, and stock control platforms (preferred).
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
- Strong managerial, mentoring, coaching, and team development skills.
Estimated Salary: QAR 20,000 β 30,000 per month (estimated, depending on experience and qualifications).
