Job Overview
Qatar Airways is seeking a Manager Catering Inventory & Logistics to lead and optimize the supply, distribution, and management of onboard catering equipment and amenities. This role focuses on ensuring that all items in the Catering Services inventory, including dry-stores, bonded, and beverage items, are available operationally while minimizing costs and stock holdings. The role requires collaboration across Product Development & Design, Catering Services, and global teams to implement best practices in forecasting, budgeting, and logistics strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic
- Develop and implement the catering equipment, bonded items, and beverage supply strategy across the Qatar Airways network
- Recommend trade-off decisions to balance supply risk with cost efficiency
- Build a cost-efficient logistics strategy to minimize unnecessary transport and fuel usage
- Develop and oversee warehousing strategies, including outsourced and in-house warehouse management
Operational
- Lead a team to ensure accurate forecasting, budgeting, and inventory replenishment
- Introduce new stock items and manage timely withdrawal and disposal of obsolete inventory
- Collaborate with Product Development & Design to trial and approve new products
- Maintain oversight of cross-functional relationships to support timely supply chain decision-making
- Monitor and report performance metrics to enhance operational efficiency
- Perform other duties as directed by the Head of Department
Qualifications & Experience
Managerial skills including mentoring, coaching, training, and fostering teamwork
Bachelorβs Degree or equivalent
Minimum 5 years of experience in Logistics, Equipment, and Supplier Management in a global environment
Strong experience in forecasting, reporting, planning, and program/project management
Mathematical and statistical analysis skills preferred
Proficiency with Excel, Power BI, ERP, and stock control systems preferred
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and presentation skills (Fluent in English)
