Job Overview
Qatar Airways Group is seeking a Head of Strategy and Insights to lead its Product Development and Design (PDD) division. This role drives strategic clarity, data-driven decision-making, and innovation across inflight products, customer experience, cabin interiors, inflight entertainment and connectivity, onboard service, and food & beverage. The Head of Strategy and Insights manages a high-performing research, strategy, insights, and PMO team to provide actionable recommendations, competitive intelligence, and customer insights that inform product roadmaps and investment decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Responsibilities
- Develop inflight product and customer experience strategies, including long-term visions, based on market trends, passenger insights, and competitive analysis.
- Provide data-driven recommendations for product roadmaps, investment prioritization, and resource allocation.
- Oversee market intelligence, passenger research, and competitive benchmarking.
- Establish frameworks for evaluating and prioritizing product initiatives based on strategic value and feasibility.
- Build and scale a PMO function to support strategic planning, governance, and performance tracking.
- Mentor and develop the team to ensure high performance and strategic rigor.
Operational Responsibilities
- Maintain frameworks for product planning, prioritization, and execution.
- Manage product strategy processes, ensuring alignment with objectives and key results.
- Monitor and report on strategic project roadmaps to ensure timely delivery and alignment with business goals.
- Implement governance processes to track progress, manage risks, and ensure accountability.
- Integrate customer insights into product development and decision-making cycles.
- Develop dashboards to monitor KPIs and performance against strategic goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Finance, Technical, Operational) to ensure alignment and foster continuous improvement.
Management & Leadership
- Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and accountability.
- Act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership, providing data-backed recommendations.
- Institutionalize strategic thinking and analytical rigor across the Product Development department.
- Set department objectives and priorities to align with business goals.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelorβs degree or equivalent with minimum 10 years of job-related experience.
- Relevant leadership experience in product and customer experience within full-service airlines, aviation, premium travel, hospitality, or similar industries.
- Proven experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams, coaching, mentoring, and succession planning.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
- Expertise in data analysis, market research, trend forecasting, and P&L management.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, make informed decisions, and anticipate trends for long-term planning.
Preferred:
- Experience in product portfolio management, roadmap planning, and prioritization.
- Experience in customer insights, market research, segmentation, and trend analysis.
- Experience in project management, program delivery, and governance.
