Job Description
Qatar Airways is seeking an Entertainment Manager for its Product Development and Design Team to enhance the in-flight entertainment (IFE) experience. The role involves creating content strategy, curating and acquiring content, managing relationships with content providers, and leveraging technology to improve passenger engagement.
The position focuses on strategic planning, content acquisition, licensing, integration with IFE systems, and ensuring compliance with copyright and industry regulations. You will also use data analytics and passenger feedback to optimize content offerings and enhance customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive content strategy aligned with Qatar Airwaysβ brand and target audience.
- Curate, select, and acquire high-quality entertainment content including movies, TV shows, music, games, and other media.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate content seamlessly into IFE platforms.
- Manage relationships with content providers, studios, distributors, licensing agencies, and technology vendors.
- Monitor industry trends, streaming/OTT developments, and emerging technologies to refresh content library.
- Ensure compliance with licensing agreements, copyright laws, and industry regulations.
- Utilize data analytics and passenger feedback to evaluate content performance and engagement.
- Oversee programming of diverse and engaging in-flight entertainment content.
- Perform other department duties as directed by the Head of Department.
Qualifications
Essential:
- Bachelorβs Degree or equivalent.
- Minimum 9 years of experience in entertainment, content partnerships, curation, and programming.
- Strong background in content acquisition, licensing, partnership, and distribution (Streaming, Broadcast, or IFE).
- Deep understanding of streaming, OTT trends, and the media ecosystem related to inflight entertainment.
- Knowledge of media integration systems and IFE hardware.
- Strategic mindset and ability to develop and execute long-term content strategies.
- Financial understanding of content licensing, pricing structures, and operational costs.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Familiarity with digital content delivery systems and IFE platforms.
- Awareness of aviation industry trends and competitive landscape.
