Job Description

Job Overview
Qatar Airways is seeking a Culinary Standards Manager to lead the development and delivery of world-class inflight dining experiences. This role ensures menu planning, food quality, and presentation meet Qatar Airways’ exceptional standards while collaborating with suppliers and the Catering Services Team to maintain five-star excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support supplier sourcing opportunities to optimize product consistency and cost efficiency.
  • Participate in product development and meal design enhancements for internal teams.
  • Provide culinary support in developing new menus for all cabin classes and routes.
  • Prepare reports after duty travel to evaluate supplier performance and service quality.
  • Manage external catering partners, onsite and remotely, ensuring menu and operational standards are met.
  • Analyze, adjust, and refine menu items for all cabin classes and crew meals.
  • Work with QRCS compliance teams to manage Culinary SOPs covering food safety, storage, preparation, and service execution.
  • Perform other department-related duties as directed by the Line Manager or Head of Department.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Hotel Management / Culinary Arts with minimum 6+ years of relevant experience.
  • Deep knowledge of global cuisines, culinary techniques, and food trends; airline catering experience preferred.
  • Ability to design inflight menus balancing taste, presentation, operational feasibility, dietary requirements, and allergen management.
  • Experience working with suppliers to ensure compliance with airline and regulatory standards.
  • Strong cost control, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting skills.
  • Change management skills to implement culinary innovation and sustainable practices.
  • Excellent spoken and written English, negotiation, presentation, and influencing skills.
  • Leadership and strategic thinking capabilities, with experience leading cross-functional, multicultural teams.
