Job Overview
Qatar Airways is seeking a Safety Officer (Investigation) to support airside safety operations at Hamad and Doha International Airports. This role focuses on responding to incidents, conducting investigations, identifying root causes, and recommending safety improvements to prevent future occurrences.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to airside incidents, accidents, near-misses, and hazards according to MATAR SMS provisions and standard procedures.
- Participate in full investigations and prepare final investigation reports for dissemination.
- Collate, review, and maintain daily activity reports, accident/incident/near-miss reports, and fault/deficiency records.
- Collect evidence, review procedures, determine root causes, and develop safety recommendations.
- Consult with stakeholders to clarify ambiguities during investigations.
- Maintain an updated airport occurrences database and prepare periodic and annual statistical/performance reports.
- Monitor and record initial responses to airport emergencies, including aircraft or vehicular accidents.
- Prepare initial investigation reports using interviews, site evaluations, and photographic evidence.
- Communicate incident findings to concerned parties for further investigation and feedback.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with minimum 3 years of relevant experience
- Experience in incident/accident investigation and airside operations
- Knowledge of International Civil Aviation Regulations
- Hands-on experience with Aerodrome Safety Management Systems (SMS)
- Professional experience in technical report writing
- Completed ICAO/ACI/IATA Safety Management System or other relevant safety training courses
