Qatar Airways Group is hiring an experienced Technical Architect – Digital Infrastructure (Hybrid Cloud) to join its IT Digital Resilience Infrastructure team in Doha. This senior role focuses on designing, implementing, and optimizing hybrid cloud environments while ensuring strong governance, security, and cost efficiency. The position plays a critical role in Azure and GCP cloud migrations, infrastructure modernization, and operational excellence across enterprise systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage hybrid cloud infrastructure ensuring high availability, scalability, and business continuity.
- Lead Azure and GCP migration initiatives, including lift-and-shift and parallel run strategies.
- Define and enforce cloud governance standards with focus on cost optimization and security posture.
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to enable automated and efficient deployments.
- Conduct capacity planning and provide right-sizing recommendations for cloud workloads.
- Lead Well-Architected Reviews with hyperscalers and internal technical teams.
- Investigate cloud infrastructure incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive actions.
- Document and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Mentor engineers and support national talent development initiatives.
- Stay updated with emerging cloud technologies and recommend continuous improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, IT Management, or equivalent.
- Minimum 8 years of IT experience, with at least 6 years in relevant cloud architecture roles.
- Proven experience designing and managing hybrid cloud environments (on-prem + public cloud).
- Hands-on experience with Azure and GCP native services.
- Strong understanding of microservices and event-driven architecture.
- Experience with DevOps and DevSecOps pipelines and automation.
- Deep knowledge of cloud security, compliance, and Well-Architected Frameworks.
- Strong understanding of SRE principles, performance optimization, and incident management.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
